BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Yale women's cross country team took 14th place (442 points) among 41 teams in the 6K Gold Race at the Paul Short Run Friday morning at Lehigh's Goodman Campus. Villanova (96 points) won, edging No. 28 Penn State by five points. Georgetown's Melissa Riggins finished first individually (19:34.8).
The race gave the Bulldogs their best chance yet to size up their Ivy League and Regional competition. The meet included seven Ivy League teams, including all of the top seven from Heps last year. Yale was ranked No. 7 in the region (Columbia, ranked No. 6 in the region, is competing at Louisville's Cross Country Classic Saturday).
