Ava Poinsett has been named Ivy League Rookie of the Week for the fifth time in 2025, as announced on Monday, Nov. 10.
In a 3-0 win against Harvard on Nov. 7, Poinsett recorded 14 kills on .393 hitting, her best during an Ivy League match this season. And in a 3-0 win over Dartmouth on Nov. 8, she recorded 11 kills and eight digs.
Poinsett currently leads the Bulldogs in kills (261) and service aces (31), and is second on the team in digs (179). She is also second in the Ivy League in kills per set (3.48) and in service aces per set (0.41).
Poinsett is the first Bulldog to win five Rookie of the Week nods from the Ivy League since Ellis DeJardin did the same during her rookie season in 2018.
The Bulldogs will return home for the final weekend of Ivy League play, facing off against Cornell on Nov. 14 and Columbia on Nov. 15.
