NEW HAVEN, Conn. — First year outside hitter
Ava Poinsett has been named Ivy League Rookie of the Week for the fourth time in 2025, as announced on Monday, Nov. 3.
In a 3-0 win against Princeton on Oct. 31, Poinsett recorded 15 kills on .344 hitting, nine digs and two service aces. And in a 2-3 loss to Penn on Nov. 1, she recorded a season-high 24 kills and 15 digs.
Poinsett currently leads the Bulldogs in kills (236) and service aces (28), and is second on the team in digs (163). She is also second in the Ivy League in kills per set (3.42) and fourth in service aces per set (0.41).
Poinsett is the first Bulldog to win four Rookie of the Week nods from the Ivy League since Ellis DeJardin won it five times during her rookie season in 2018.
The Bulldogs will head north for a weekend slate against Harvard on Nov. 7 and Dartmouth on Nov. 8.
