Bulldogs Fall to Hofstra, 73-66

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's basketball team rallied from a 10 point third-quarter deficit against Hofstra Tuesday night at John J. Lee Amphitheater, tying the game 58-58 within the first minute of the fourth. The Bulldogs stayed within striking distance the rest of the way, and were within one (67-66) after a jumper by junior forward Luisa Vydrova with 68 seconds to play. After the Pride went ahead by three, the Bulldogs had a chance to tie the game but missed a three-pointer with 15 seconds remaining. Four free throws for the Pride then sealed Hofstra's 73-66 win.
 
Yale falls to 0-2 (0-0 Ivy League) while Hofstra improves to 1-1 (0-0 CAA).
 
STATISTICAL LEADERS
  • Senior forward Kiley Capstraw led Yale in points (19) and assists (four). 
  • Capstraw and junior forward Luisa Vydrova tied for the team lead in rebounds with nine.
