Fast Start Lifts Quinnipiac Past Yale

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – A red-hot start for Quinnipiac – the Bobcats shot .579 in the first quarter – proved too much for the Yale women's basketball team to overcome Tuesday night at Lee Amphitheater. QU led 27-9 after the first quarter, so while the remaining three quarters were mostly evenly played the Bobcats still came away with a 69-46 win. 
 
Yale falls to 0-4 (0-0 Ivy League) while Quinnipiac improves to 2-2 (0-0 MAAC).
 
STATISTICAL LEADERS
  • Sophomore guard Ciniya Moore led Yale in scoring with 16 points.
  • Sophomore guard Marisa Chapman led Yale in rebounds with a season-high seven.
  • Four players had a team-best two assists.

  • Quinnipiac had an 11-0 run in the first quarter. Yale's biggest run was six, in the fourth quarter.
