COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Yale men's swimming and diving team capped off a strong week at the Ohio State Invitational, competing in the final events on Friday at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion. The day was highlighted by a fourth-place finish from the 400-yard freestyle relay, a fourth-place performance by
Nick Finch in the 100-yard freestyle, and top-10 finishes from
Noah Millard and
Arshak Hambardzumyan in the 1650-yard freestyle.
The Results
- 200-yard IM: Yale placed four swimmers in the B final. Jake Wang finished first in 1:45.07, Alexander Hazlett took third in 1:47.27, Kavin Li placed seventh in 1:48.68, and Elliot Lee finished ninth in 1:49.16.
- 1650-yard Freestyle: Millard delivered a strong performance, finishing fourth in 14:52.11, while Hambardzumyan placed eighth in 15:04.88.
- 100-yard Freestyle:
- Finch capped his strong week with a fourth-place finish in the A final, posting 42.24 and becoming Yale's No. 2 all-time performer in the event.
- Deniel Nankov finished first in the B final with a time of 42.92.
- 200-yard Butterfly: Li took second in the B final with a time of 1:47.04.
- 200-yard Backstroke: Yale placed two in the B final. Mak Nurkic Kacapor finished third in 1:43.65, moving up to third all-time, and Manoli Mountonakis was fourth in 1:43.89, now fourth all-time.
- 400-yard Freestyle Relay: The team of Finch, Nankov, Wang, and Millard closed out the day with a fourth-place finish with a time of 2:50.70.
