NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Yale volleyball's Ava Poinsett has picked up a couple more accolades in her rookie season for the Bulldogs, being named ECAC Rookie of the Year and to the All-ECAC Second Team, as announced by the conference on Dec. 12.

These distinctions come after Poinsett was already named Ivy League Rookie of the Year, unanimous First Team All-Ivy, AVCA North Region Freshman of the Year, AVCA All-North Region First Team and a six-time Ivy League Rookie of the Week. 

The San Diego, California native finished Ivy play tied for first in service aces per set (0.44), second in kills per set (3.55), and third in points per set (4.12).

Across the Ivy semifinal and championship matches, Poinsett totaled 39 kills, 36 digs, nine service aces, and four solo blocks, earning a spot on the Ivy League All-Tournament Team.
