CANTON, N.Y. – The Yale women's ice hockey team came up just short in the opening game of the ECAC Hockey Quarterfinals on Friday afternoon at Appleton Arena, falling to St. Lawrence 3-2 in overtime. Claire Tyo scored the power-play goal at 14:26 of the extra period to earn the sudden-death victory for the Saints.
With the win, St. Lawrence improved to 20-10-5 overall and took a 1-0 series lead in the best-of-three quarterfinals matchup. Yale dropped to 16-12-3 overall, but will have a chance to even the series on Saturday.

- END OF REGULATION | Through 60 minutes of regulation, the two teams played to a 2-2 tie, setting up the sudden-death overtime period.
- OT, 14:26 | The Bulldogs were assessed three penalties during the extra frame, setting up a five-on-three advantage for the Saints. Tyo's shot was partially saved by Yale goaltender Pia Dukaric, but she couldn't quite corral it, as the game-winner trickled into the net. 3-2 SLU
