PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Yale diving team resumed action at the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships on Tuesday.
Lily Horenkamp and
Paige Lai finished fifth and seventh to punch their tickets to represent the Bulldogs at the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships.
The trip to NCAAs will be Lai's third in as many seasons and the first of Horenkamp's career. The NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships for the women will take place in Federal Way, Wash. from Mar. 19-22.
Due to qualifying on the 1-meter board and finishing within the top-12 on the 3-meter board, Lai will compete in both events at the NCAA Championships.
Notable Performances
- Women's 1M Final: Horenkamp placed fifth with a score of 571.30, with Lai following in seventh with a score of 561.70 to secure a spot in the NCAA 1M event. Hayden Henderson joined the pair in the finals and placed tenth, her second top-10 finish of the Zone A Championships.
- Women's 1M Prelims: Laurel Jin placed 60th.
- Men's 3M Prelims: Nicholas Chau placed 19th, Jackson Lipscomb placed 28th and Ray Wipfli placed 48th.
Looking Ahead
The final day of the Zone A Diving Championships is set for Wednesday, March 12 with platform diving. Events are set to begin with prelims at 9:30 AM.
