Day One of Bryant Black and Gold Invitational Complete

SMITHFIELD, R.I. — The Yale men's track and field team was back in action on Friday for day one of the Black and Gold Invitational hosted by Bryant. It was time for the throwers to show their skills as they competed in the discus and hammer throw. The Bulldogs totaled 19 points and ended the day in fourth place out of 10 teams. New Hampshire (31 points) is in the lead.

  • Junior Nolan Recker kicked things off in the discus. Going in the final flight, he threw an excellent series to place second at 48.14 meters.
  • In the hammer throw, sophomore Chu Anueyiagu opened up his outdoor season. He threw a solid mark of 44.54 meters. Junior Jake Sun took to the cage and continued to build upon his solid season opener with his mark of 57.34 meters (third place). Recker faced a busy day, also competing in the hammer throw. He placed fourth with a mark of 56.92 meters.
Up Next: 
  • The Bulldogs will be back in action Saturday for day two of the Black and Gold Invitational. Field events begin at 10:00 a.m. and action on the track begins at 10:30 a.m.
