Bulldogs Rout Harvard in Doubleheader Sweep

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale baseball team swept Harvard in a doubleheader on Saturday at George H.W. Bush '48 Field. The Bulldogs routed the Crimson 17-1 in the first game, before defeating Harvard 9-2 in the series finale.

After dropping the first game of the three-game set at Harvard on Friday, the Bulldogs responded well to pick up the series win. Yale improved to 15-7 overall with a 3-3 mark in Ivy League play. Harvard dropped to 2-18 overall with a 1-5 conference record.

Saturday's doubleheader was originally scheduled to be held at Harvard. Due to impending weather, the games were moved to Bush Field. As a result, Harvard played as the home team.

Game 1 – Yale 17, Harvard 1
Key Performers
  • Tommy Martin drove in a career-high four runs, including a two-run homer in the second.
  • First year Jack Ohman continued his impressive season, tossing 5.0 innings while only allowing one hit. He fanned eight batters and walked three.

  • Top 1st | The Bulldogs scored three runs in the first as a result of two wild pitches by Harvard starting pitcher, Truman Pauley. 3-0 YALE

  • Bulldogs starting pitcher Daniel Cohen was outstanding on the mound, throwing 6.1 innings while only conceding one run. He struck out nine and allowed five hits.
