Bulldogs Fall to No. 2 Princeton in Regular Season Finale

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Yale men's lacrosse team fell to No. 2 Princeton, 18-7, in its regular season finale at Sherrerd Field at Class of 1952 Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Tigers led 6-2 after the first quarter, and didn't look back the rest of the way.
 
The loss dropped Yale's record to 5-7 (3-3 Ivy League), and Princeton improved to 11-2 (5-1 Ivy League).

Scoring Summary
  • Q1 | The Tigers jumped out to an early 4-0 lead by the 9:51 mark. Anderson put the Bulldogs on the board with his 19th goal of the season, but Princeton quickly answered. Rodriguez scored after winning a faceoff with 2:25 remaining, but the Tigers still took a four-goal advantage into the second quarter. 6-2 PRINCETON
  • Q2 | Princeton tallied five goals in the frame to lead by nine at halftime. 11-2 PRINCETON
  • Q3 | The Tigers kept up their scoring momentum, adding two more goals to widen their lead. Moynihan found the net with 1:59 remaining, but Princeton held onto its advantage heading into the final frame. 13-3 PRINCETON
  • Q4 | After Princeton scored at the 12:54 mark, the Bulldogs responded with goals from Cashion and Krevsky. Yale kept fighting, with Sharp and Johnson scoring consecutively to bring the score to 16-7 with 4:50 remaining.
