Men's Hockey Announces 2025-26 Schedule;Season Tickets on Sale

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Yale men's ice hockey team has announced its 2025-26 schedule, which includes 15 home contests at Ingalls Rink following $3 million in facility upgrades completed this summer. Season tickets are now available for purchase through the Yale Athletics Ticket Office.

Schedule Information
The Bulldogs' 30-game regular season includes 22 ECAC Hockey conference matchups and eight non-conference games, highlighted by an appearance at the 2025 Coachella Cactus Cup and Yale's first opportunity to host the Connecticut Ice Tournament against in-state foes Quinnipiac, Sacred Heart and UConn. 

The season will begin with a non-ECAC matchup with Ivy League rival Dartmouth on Nov. 2 before hosting Quinnipiac and Princeton on Nov. 7 and 8 for Alumni Weekend. The Elis will play four more ECAC games in November before hosting Omaha for the first time in program history on the 28th and 29th. 

December will feature three road matchups for the Bulldogs, including one at Harvard on Dec. 5, before the team goes on break until the new year. Yale will resume on Jan. 2, 2026, facing off against St. Cloud State in the opening matchup of the Coachella Cactus Cup in Palm Springs, California, before playing Minnesota State or UMass Lowell the following day.

The rest of January includes four more ECAC matchups before the Elis compete in the CT Ice Tournament against UConn on the 23rd and either Quinnipiac or Sacred Heart on the 24th. All games of the tournament will be played at Ingalls Rink. 

In the home stretch of the season, the Bulldogs will have 10 games remaining after CT Ice, with six coming at home and four on the road, including a home Valentine's Day matchup with Harvard on Feb. 14. Yale will cap the regular season with a back-to-back set at home against Union and RPI, respectively.

Yale plays games in seven different states (Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island and California).

Two trophies are on the line for the 2025-26 season as teams will compete for the ECAC's Cleary Cup (regular season title) and Whitelaw Trophy (tournament title).

This year's playoff series will mock last year's format:

  • First Round – One game hosted by 5-8 seeds vs. 9-12 seeds
  • Quarterfinals – Best-of-three series hosted by 1-4 seeds vs. winners of First Round games
  • Championship Weekend – Semifinals and final in Lake Placid, NY
  • The first round of the ECAC Tournament will be held from March 6-7 and be held at the higher seed.
  • The quarterfinal round will be held from March 13-15 and held at the higher seed.
  • Championship weekend will be held March 20-21 at the Olympic Center in Lake Placid, New York.
  • NCAA Regionals kick off on March 27 and run until March 29, while the Frozen Four semifinals are on April 9, and the National Championship is slated for April 11.
