Bulldogs Picked Third in 2025 Ivy League Football Preseason Poll

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Ahead of its inaugural appearance in the FCS playoffs, the Ivy League has announced its 2025 Football Preseason Poll.

Harvard was selected as the preseason favorite with nine first-place votes, followed by Dartmouth with four.

Yale was picked to finish third (three first-place votes, 103 points), while the reigning Ivy League champions, Columbia, earned 72 points to place fourth.

Rounding out the poll are Princeton (55 points) in fifth, Penn (49 points) in sixth, Cornell (42 points) in seventh, and Brown (32 points) in eighth.

Sixteen media members who cover the league participated in this year's voting.

Yale concluded the 2024 season with a 7-3 overall record and a 4-3 mark in Ivy League play. The Bulldogs went undefeated in non-conference action and ended the year on a three-game win streak, capped by a 34-29 victory over Harvard.

The 2025 season kicks off on Sept. 20 when the Bulldogs host Holy Cross at the Yale Bowl, Class of 1954 Field. Yale's first Ivy League contest is also at home, with Cornell visiting on Sept. 27.
