Penn Tops Yale

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Penn broke open a game that was close at halftime, outscoring the Yale women's basketball team 36-16 in the second half to take a 64-37 win Saturday at Lee Amphitheater.
 
Penn shot .500 in the first quarter (7-for-14) en route to taking a 17-12 lead into the second. Yale fell behind by as many as nine in the second quarter, but a three-pointer from sophomore guard Ke'iara Odume and a short jumper by junior forward Luisa Vydrova quickly got the Bulldogs back within four with 2:53 left. The Quakers eventually went into halftime up 28-21.
 
Penn opened the third quarter with an 11-1 run before sophomore guard Ciniya Moore drained a three-pointer at 3:34. Still, the Quakers led 47-27 heading into the fourth. They outscored Yale 17-10 in the final frame to finish off the win.
 
Yale drops to 5-13 (1-4 Ivy League) while Penn improves to 12-6 (2-3 Ivy League).
