Bulldogs Fall to Cornell, 5-2

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale men's hockey team fell to Cornell, 5-2, on Friday night at Ingalls Rink. The Bulldogs moved to 7-14-0 overall and 6-7-0 in ECAC Hockey play, while the Big Red improved to 15-5-0 on the season and 10-3-0 in conference action.

Period 1: Cornell 2, Yale 0
  • 6:38 (COR) – Cornell opened the scoring just over six minutes into the first period.
  • 7:10 (COR) – Thirty-two seconds later, the Big Red made it a two-goal game.
Period 2: Cornell 4, Yale 1
  • 0:31 (COR) – Cornell struck early in the second to extend its lead to three.
  • 2:46 (YAL) – Yale got on the board on the power play. Hughie Hooker found David Chen with a cross-zone pass, and Chen fed Micah Berger in front for the one-touch finish.
  • 4:57 (COR) – Cornell answered just over two minutes later to restore its three-goal advantage.

Period 3: Cornell 5, Yale 2
  • 18:21 (YAL) – The Chen-Hooker connection produced again late in the third, this time with Ronan O'Donnell finishing from the outer slot.
