NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale men's hockey team fell to Colgate, 6-3, on Saturday night at Ingalls Rink. The Bulldogs moved to 7-15-0 overall and 6-8-0 in ECAC Hockey play, while the Raiders improved to 10-13-3 on the season and 7-5-2 in conference action.
Period 1: Yale 1, Colgate 0
- 5:41 (YAL) – Donovan Frias won a defensive-zone faceoff back to Rhys Bentham to start the sequence. Bentham circled behind the net and slid a pass up to Kalen Szeto, who lifted it out of the zone to Kurt Gurkan in the neutral zone. Gurkan powered past a defender and slipped the puck home for his first collegiate goal.
Period 2: Yale 2, Colgate 2
- 8:56 (YAL) – Yale doubled its lead on a give-and-go between Will Richter and David Andreychuk. Richter avoided a defender, dropped a pass to Andreychuk, and buried the return feed.
- 13:32 (COL) – Colgate cut the deficit in half with an even-strength goal near the midway point of the period.
- 19:29 (COL) – With 31 seconds remaining in the second, the Raiders found the equalizer.
Period 3: Colgate 6, Yale 3
- 2:29 (COL) – Colgate took a 3-2 lead early in the third with a power-play goal.
- 2:47 (COL) – The Raiders added another just 22 seconds later.
- 11:32 (COL) – Colgate extended its lead to three.
- 11:59 (COL) – Twenty-seven seconds later, the visitors made it 6–2.
- 19:11 (YAL) – Yale capped the scoring with an even-strength goal from Donovan Frias.
