TAMPA, Fla. – On day two of action at the Fonesca Memorial Tournament, the Yale softball team fell to Kansas, 12-0, and Indiana State, 11-1. The Bulldogs moved to 1-3 on the season, while Kansas improved to 7-4 and Indiana State to 4-5.
Game 1: Kansas 12, Yale 0
- T1 – Kansas opened the scoring with three runs on three hits. (KAN 3, YAL 0)
- T2 – After Yale went three up, three down in the first, the Jayhawks extended their lead with two more runs. (KAN 5, YAL 0)
- T3 – Kansas broke the game open in the third, plating four runs on three hits. (KAN 9, YAL 0)
- T4 – The Jayhawks added three more runs in the fourth to stretch the lead to 12-0. (KAN 12, YAL 0)
Game 2: Indiana State 11, Yale 1
- B1 – Indiana State struck first in game two. The Sycamores reached on a fielding error for their first baserunner, who advanced on a stolen base and later scored on another Yale error. Indiana State added a second run on a sacrifice fly to right field. (IND 2, YAL 0)
- T2 – Yale responded in its next at-bat. Ella Cross recorded the Bulldogs' first hit of the day with a single to left. Emma Taylor followed with a double to right center to put runners on second and third. After Jane Littleton reached on a fielder's choice to put runners on the corners, Cross stole home to cut the deficit in half. (IND 2, YAL 1)
- B3 – The Sycamores put together a three-run third inning on six hits to extend their lead. (IND 5, YAL 1)
- B4 – Indiana State broke the game open in the fourth, stringing together five straight hits to score four runs. The Sycamores added two more in the inning to push the lead to 11-1.

- Ella Cross went 2-for-4 on the day with a run scored and a stolen base.
- Grace Westmoreland finished 2-for-4 across the two games, including a double.
- Emma Taylor went 2-for-2 against Indiana State with a double.
- Jane Littleton went 1-for-2 against Kansas and added a stolen base against Indiana State.
