PRINCETON, N.J. – The Yale men's swimming and diving team opened the Ivy League Championships in dominant fashion on Wednesday evening at DeNunzio Pool. The 200-yard medley relay captured gold with an Ivy League meet, team, and pool record time of 1:23.55—also securing an NCAA A cut—while the 800-yard freestyle relay earned silver in a team-record and NCAA A cut time of 6:13.92.
After one night of competition, the Bulldogs are tied for first with Princeton with 120 points.
The Results
- 200-yard Medley Relay: The quartet of Lucius Brown, Alexander Hazlett, Nick Finch, and Deniel Nankov delivered a standout performance, claiming gold with a record-setting 1:23.55 that marked an Ivy League meet, team, and pool record, along with an NCAA A qualifying time.
- 800-yard Freestyle Relay: The quartet of Jake Wang, Lars Kuljus, Mak Nurkic Kacapor, and Noah Millard had a silver-medal finish, posting a team-best 6:13.92 to earn an NCAA A cut.
