COLUMBUS, Ohio – First year Samson Frey recorded a 37-save shutout and classmate Molly Boyle scored a second-period goal to lead the Yale women's ice hockey team to a 1-0 victory over the University of Minnesota Duluth in the NCAA Regional Semifinals on Thursday evening at the Ohio State University Ice Rink.
The Bulldogs earned their second NCAA Tournament win in program history and advanced to the quarterfinals of the national championship event. They will face No. 1 Ohio State in the NCAA Regional Finals with a spot in the Frozen Four on the line. Yale improved to 26-9 overall with the victory.
"This was such a great team effort and committed game by the group against a terrific goaltender," said Mark Bolding, Susan Cavanagh Head Coach of Women's Hockey. "We defended well and created just enough offense. I am really proud of the two-way hockey the team played today."

• END OF 1st | The two teams played to a scoreless tie through one period. Yale outshot UMD 21-8 and earned two power-play opportunities.
