NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale men's lacrosse team battled with a big fourth-quarter comeback, scoring four goals in the final frame, but the Bulldogs came up short, falling 11-10, to No. 3 Princeton in their Ivy League opener on Saturday afternoon at Reese Stadium.
Eight different Bulldogs found the back of the net, led by
Peter Moynihan's four-point afternoon (one goal, three assists) and
Connor Gately's three-point effort (two goals, one assist).
With the defeat, Yale drops to 3-3 overall (0-1 Ivy), and Princeton improves to 5-1 (1-0 Ivy).

- Moynihan led the offense with four points, tallying a goal and three assists.
- Gately posted three points with two goals and an assist, with both goals coming in the fourth quarter rally.

- Q2 | Princeton's offense exploded in the frame, scoring five goals. The Tigers opened the quarter with a goal at the 11:51 mark (4-1), and then Gately answered quickly off a Moynihan assist to trim the deficit to two (4-2). The Tigers rattled off three straight scores to extend the advantage to 7-2. Pascal scored back-to-back to trim the deficit to three, but the Tigers countered with a goal to take a four-goal lead into halftime. 8-4 PRINCETON
- Q3 | The Tigers scored just 42 seconds into the frame to put the Princeton lead to 9-4. Yale began to chip away, as Anderson scored off a Moynihan assist and the Cashion, also from Moynihan to make it 9-5. Princeton was held scoreless over the final 14:18 of the quarter. 9-6 PRINCETON
- Q4 | Yale came out firing, as Grogan converted on a man-up opportunity just 25 seconds into the quarter. Jackson then scored at the 11:17 mark to pull the Bulldogs within one (9–8). Princeton responded to restore a two-goal lead, but Gately answered to make it a one-goal game again (10–9). The Tigers then scored with 48 seconds remaining to push the lead to 11–9.
