Nick Townsend garnered accolades from the NABC, announced on Tuesday. Jones was named the Mid-Atlantic District Co-Coach of the Year, and Townsend earned First Team honors.
Jones, the winningest coach in Yale history, has recorded 442 career victories, including 236 in Ivy League play—the second-highest total in league history. This season, he guided the Bulldogs to a 24–6 overall record and an 11–3 mark in conference play, capturing their second consecutive Ivy League title and the eighth during his tenure. Under Jones's leadership, Yale has reached double-digit Ivy League wins in 11 seasons and has placed fourth or better in the conference for 25 straight years. The Bulldogs have also won four Ivy League tournament championships, earned five NCAA Tournament bids, and made 10 postseason appearances overall.
Townsend, the reigning Ivy League Player of the Year, has had a stellar senior campaign. He leads Yale in scoring (16.4 ppg), which ranks seventh in the league. He also ranks third in the conference in rebounding (7.4 rpg), first in three-point percentage (.473), and second in assists (4.3 apg). Additionally, the Chappaqua, New York, native has scored in double figures in 27 games and recorded five double-doubles. He is a two-time First Team All-Ivy honoree, earned Ivy League Player of the Week honors twice this season, was named the USBWA Oscar Robertson National Player of the Week, and is a finalist for College Insider's Nolan Richardson Award.
