Layni Kaase had the Bulldogs' top finish, placing seventh in the high jump with a mark of 1.67m that puts her just outside of Yale's top 10 all-time in that event. Junior
Victoria Guerrier gave the Bulldogs another top 10 finish, placing 10th in the 400m dash with a time of 54.90 that moves her up to fifth all-time at Yale.
On the meet's first day Friday, first-year
Constanza Acevedo broke the school record in the javelin throw. Acevedo's mark of 45.92m placed her third in a deep field at UCF. Yale also got a top 10 performance in in the 400m hurdles (from junior
Gloria Guerrier, fourth, 1:00.51) and a pair of top 10 performances in the shot put (from sophomore
Anna Siciliano, ninth, 14.19m, and senior
Makayla Harris, 10th, 13.90m).
The Black and Gold Challenge, which was unscored, included more than 30 schools from throughout the country.
Next weekend Yale splits up for the Raleigh Relays Mar. 26-28 and the UMass Flagship First Mar. 28.
