NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Four members of the Yale men's basketball team earned CSC Academic All-District accolades, announced on Tuesday.
Nick Townsend,
Trevor Mullin,
Jordan Brathwaite, and
Riley Fox each earned the honors.
The 2026 Academic All-District Basketball teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions – NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
The CSC Academic All-America honorees will be announced in April. Townsend was denoted a finalist.
Townsend, a Psychology major, has excelled on the court and in the classroom for Yale. The captain of the Bulldogs, he is the reigning Ivy League Player of the Year and had a stellar senior campaign. He led Yale in scoring (16.3 ppg), which ranked eighth in the league. He also ranked third in the conference in rebounding (7.4 rpg) and second in assists (4.3 apg). Additionally, the Chappaqua, New York, native scored in double figures in 28 games and recorded five double doubles. He is a two-time First Team All-Ivy honoree, has earned Ivy League Player of the Week honors twice this season, was named the USBWA Oscar Robertson National Player of the Week, and is a finalist for the College Insiders' Nolan Richardson Award.
Mullin, an Economics major, put together a strong junior season for the Bulldogs. The Wellesley, Massachusetts native was one of five Yale players to average double figures, scoring 11.5 points per game. He appeared in all 31 contests, making 30 starts, and reached double digits in 17 games. His standout performance came in a thrilling overtime win over Howard, where he scored a career-high 23 points. Mullin also surpassed the 20-point mark four times, including in both the Ivy Madness semifinal and championship games, earning All-Tournament honors. Serving as the team's point guard, he ranked third on the team with 85 total assists.
Brathwaite, a Political Science major, played in all 31 games for Yale, finishing third on the team with 45 three-pointers. He reached double figures in scoring five times, including a career-high 17 points in an overtime win at Harvard, where he made five three-pointers. He ranked among the league's top five in three-point percentage (.435), hit a clutch game-tying three at Howard to force overtime, and contributed 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting in Yale's Ivy Madness semifinal victory over Cornell.
Fox, an Economics major, enjoyed a breakout sophomore season for the Bulldogs, emerging as one of five players to average double-digit scoring at 10.0 points per game. Appearing in 31 games, he ranked second on the team with 45 three-pointers—tying Brathwaite—while averaging 17.8 minutes per contest. The West Hartford, Connecticut, native scored in double figures 14 times, including five games with 20 or more points. His season was highlighted by a career-high 24 points in the team's season-opening win at Navy, along with a personal-best nine made field goals in a home victory over Brown.
