No. 8 Yale Visits No. 19 Princeton Saturday

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The No. 8 Yale women's lacrosse team visits No. 19 Princeton Saturday (12:00 p.m., ESPN+, International Stream, Live Stats).  
 
The Bulldogs
  • Last time out, Yale (8-1, 2-0 Ivy League) beat Brown 10-8. That was the team's 11th straight win at home, including six wins this season. Sophomore goalkeeper Niamh Pfaff (Garden City, N.Y.) made a career-high 11 saves.
  • Yale is ranked in three national polls:
    • No. 8 in the ILWomen poll
    • No. 9 in the IWLCA poll
    • No. 6 in the USA Lacrosse poll
  • Yale is in the middle of a stretch in which three of four opponents are ranked in the top 20. Yale is 1-1 vs. ranked opponents so far this season, having won 11-6 at then-No. 5 Michigan Feb. 28 and lost at then-No. 9 Syracuse 6-5 on Mar. 17.

  • Yale has three players on the Tewaaraton Award Watch List:
    • First-year attacker Kate Gould (Nyack, N.Y.) is second in the Ivy League in draw controls (51), fourth in the Ivy League in points (38), sixth in the Ivy League in assists (17) and tied for eighth in the Ivy League in goals (21).
    • Senior defender Emmy Pascal (Lorton, Va.), Yale's captain, leads the Ivy League in caused turnovers (21) and is tied for fourth in the Ivy League in ground balls (19).
    • Sophomore goalkeeper Niamh Pfaff (Garden City, N.Y.) is first nationally in goals-against average (6.14) and fourth nationally in save percentage (.533).
 
The Series vs. Princeton
  • Yale has won four of the last five in the series vs. Princeton, including a 17-6 win vs. the Tigers in the 2025 Ivy League Tournament championship game at Class of 1952 Stadium last May. That was Yale's second-largest margin of victory against Princeton ever. The record was 13 in a 17-4 Bulldog win Apr. 6, 1985. 
  • Princeton had won 13 in a row in the series prior to Yale's 15-10 win over the Tigers on Mar. 4, 2023 at Reese Stadium.
