NEW HAVEN, Conn. – In the opening game of a three-game series, the Yale softball team fell to Brown, 4-1, at 5K Corral Field at DeWitt Family Stadium. The Bulldogs moved to 8-18 overall and 2-5 in the Ivy League, while the Bears improved to 9-13 overall and 2-2 in Ivy play.
Scoring Summary
- T1 – Brown took an early lead in the first inning. A double in the Bears' first at-bat gave them their first baserunner. With one out, they followed with three straight singles to score a pair of runs. (BRO 2, YAL 0)
- T4 – With two outs and two runners on, the Bears added another run to extend their lead. (BRO 3, YAL 0)
- B4 – Ella Cross gave Yale its first baserunner of the inning with a double to left-center field on the second pitch. After advancing to third in the next at-bat, Demi Donahoe laid down a sacrifice bunt to bring Cross home. (BRO 3, YAL 1)
