NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Yale softball completed a dramatic series against Brown on Sunday, erasing a five-run deficit in the sixth inning of game two and winning with a walk-off walk in the ninth inning for a 9-8 victory. The Bears won game one, 3-2.
With the split, Yale moves to 9-19 overall and 3-6 in the Ivy League, while Brown improves to 10-14 overall and 3-3 in conference play.
Game 1: Brown 3, Yale 2
- T2: Back-to-back singles to start the inning put two runners on for Brown. A groundout to the pitcher advanced them to second and third, and a sacrifice fly to center scored the first run. (BRO 1, YAL 0)
- T4: Brown added two more runs with two outs to extend their lead. (BRO 3, YAL 0)
- B4: Yale responded as Jane Littleton hit a 2-1 double to left-center and advanced to third on a wild pitch. She later scored on an Ella Gandolfo single up the middle. (BRO 3, YAL 2)
Game 2: Yale 9, Brown 8 (9 innings)
- T1: With the bases loaded and one out, Brown scored twice on an infield error and added two more runs on a single. (BRO 4, YAL 0)
- B3: Yale scored a run on a bases-loaded fielder's choice. (BRO 4, YAL 1)
- T4: Brown scored two more runs on a one-out single to center. (BRO 6, YAL 1)
- B6: A lead-off double from Grace Westmoreland sparked a Bulldogs comeback. Isabella Fortini and Ella Gandolfo earned walks to load the bases, followed by Demi Donahoe's walk to score Westmoreland. A wild pitch plated Fortini, and Libby Peoples walked to reload the bases. Ava Kainrath drew a walk on an eight-pitch at-bat to make it 6-4. A sacrifice fly from Ella Cross cut the lead to one, and Jane Littleton followed with a two-run single up the middle to give Yale the lead. (YAL 7, BRO 6)

- T9: Brown took the lead 8-7 on a two-out single with runners on first and second, but the Bulldogs escaped further damage.

- Yale's 19 walks are the most in a single game this season in NCAA Division I softball.
- Libby Peoples hit a triple in game one – her fifth of the season and ninth of her career. Her five triples are the most by a Yale player in a single season since Meg Johnson in 2009. Peoples' nine career triples tie her for third all-time at Yale.
- Peoples' six walks in game two are the most in a single game in NCAA Division I softball this season and tie the NCAA Division I record for most walks in a game. She is just the sixth player to achieve this, last accomplished by Minnesota's Jess Oakland in 2024.
- Ella Gandolfo earned walks in three consecutive games and stole two bases in game one, giving her seven on the season.
- Ella Cross recorded hits in both games and had at least one hit in every game of the series.
- Yale's four stolen bases in game two marked a single-game season high.
