NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale softball team split a pair of games Saturday afternoon, opening its home schedule with an 11-0 win over New Haven before falling 7-0 to Boston University.
Game 1: Yale 11, New Haven 0 (5 inn.)
- B1 – With the bases loaded, Ava Kainrath put the Bulldogs on the board with a bases-clearing double. Jane Littleton followed that up with a two-RBI single. (Yale 5, New Haven 0)
- B3 – Yale plated another six runs in this inning via three RBI singles, a double steal and a two-RBI double from Libby Peoples. (Yale 11, New Haven 0)
- T5 – Caitlin LaFerney closed the game out with a scoreless fifth inning, giving Yale the 11-0 victory via the run rule.

- Kainrath increased her season RBI total to four.
- Peoples and Littleton are now tied for the team lead in RBI with five.
- Emma Taylor pitched three scoreless innings, her second scoreless outing of the season.
- LaFerney earned her first win of the season.

Game 2: Boston University 7, Yale 0
- The Terriers struck early with a trio of runs in the first inning.
- BU added two more runs in the second and sixth innings to secure the seven-run victory.
- Gandolfo and Peoples both secured hits for the Bulldogs.
- Meredith Henderson pitched a solid outing in relief, throwing two scoreless innings with three strikeouts.
