PRINCETON, N.J. – The Yale heavyweight crew team returned to Lake Carnegie in New Jersey for the second time in three weeks on Saturday morning, competing against Ivy League foes Princeton and Cornell for the Carnegie Cup.
Results
The racing slate featured 2,000-meter races for each school's top four varsity boats. The first varsity boats competed for the Carnegie Cup, which Yale has not won since its running in 2023.
- The day started with the 4V boats racing alongside Princeton's 5V offering. The Tigers took first, with Yale finishing right behind them in second place.
- Princeton's 3V boat won its race by 10 seconds over the Bulldogs, with the Big Red finishing third.
- The Tiger 2V also took first, with the Bulldogs finishing in second only four seconds behind.
- Princeton won its third-straight Carnegie Cup race, crossing the finish line in 5:39.0. Yale also took second here with a time of 5:43.6. Cornell finished third with a time of 5:49.5.

Looking Ahead
Yale will travel north to the waters of the Connecticut River in Fairlee, Vermont, on Saturday, May 2, to compete against Dartmouth for the Olympic Axe.
