PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Yale softball team closed its season series against Penn with a 7-6 loss. The Bulldogs fell to 10-23 overall and 3-9 in the Ivy League, while the Quakers improved to 15-15 overall and 6-3 in conference play.

Scoring Summary

• B2 – The second inning saw the first scoring of the day, as three consecutive plays—a wild pitch, a sacrifice fly, and an error—produced three runs for Penn. (PENN 3, YAL 0)
• B3 – Penn extended its lead to four with a run scored on a wild pitch. (PENN 4, YAL 0)
• T4 – Yale responded in the fourth. Back-to-back singles from Kaitlyn Oikle and Sienna Reynolds put runners on base. After a fielder's choice recorded the force out at second, runners stood on the corners before Jane Littleton stole second. Ella Cross followed with a single up the middle to score a run. Later in the inning, with the bases loaded, Grace Westmoreland reached on a fielder's choice to bring home Littleton and cut the deficit in half. (PENN 4, YAL 2)
• B4 – Penn answered with a pair of doubles in the bottom of the inning to extend its lead to seven. (PENN 7, YAL 2)
• T5 – The Bulldogs got one back in the fifth on a bases-loaded infield single from Littleton. (PENN 7, YAL 3)
• T7 – Yale made a late push in its final at-bat. With no outs and two on, Littleton singled up the middle to score a run and make it 7-4. With the bases loaded later in the inning, Isabella Fortini reached on an error, allowing two runs to score and cut the deficit to one. Penn recorded the final two outs to hold off the Bulldogs' comeback attempt.
