WORCESTER, Mass. – The Yale heavyweight crew team traveled out to Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass. for the 2026 Eastern Sprints Championships on Sunday. The Bulldogs did not reach any of the day's grand final races, but the 1V boat took home victory in the petite final, achieving one of the regatta's top times.
Results
Yale's racing slate featured 2,000-meter preliminary and finals races top four varsity boats. The first varsity boats competed for the Eastern Sprints Championship, with the Bulldogs looking for their first title since 2023.
- The Bulldog 4V finished fifth in its first heat Sunday morning before coming in fourth place in the petite final Saturday afternoon.
- The 3V finished third in its preliminary heat before also finishing third in the petite final.
- The second varsity boat finished third place in both the preliminary heat and petite final, registering times of 5:42.144 (season-best) and 5:51.939, respectively.
- Despite finishing with the fourth-best time of the varsity heats (5:40.527), the Yale 1V went on to compete in the petite final. The Bulldogs won the petite final with a time of 5:36.909, a season-best which would have been third-best in the day's grand final.
