WORCESTER, Mass. -- The Yale lightweights capped a busy Sunday of racing on Lake Quinsigamond at Eastern Sprints with a win in the 1V petite final. The 1V finished in 5:54.2 to edge second-place Georgetown (5:55.6) and finish seventh overall.
The Bulldogs had placed fourth in their heat Sunday morning, missing out on a spot in the grand final by less than two seconds.
In the 2V, the Bulldogs placed fourth in their heat Sunday morning, missing out on the grand final by less than a second to Dartmouth (5:57.5 for Yale to 5:56.7 for Dartmouth). The Bulldogs went on to place third in the petite final and ninth overall.
In the 3V, all six boats went straight to the grand final (no heats). The Bulldogs placed sixth, with Princeton taking the win.
Yale now turns its attention to the IRA National Championships, which take place May 29-31 on Lake Natoma in Gold River, Calif.
