LEXINGTON, Ky. – First-year
Phoebe Benun and sophomore
Zoe Martonfi of the Yale women's track and field team competed in the 3000m steeplechase at the NCAA East First Round meet Saturday at Kentucky. Martonfi finished 34th (10:25.88) and Benun finished 40th (10:36.02). The top 12 advanced to the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore., in June.
Benun was seventh among all first-years in the event. The duo was part of a total of seven Ivy Leaguers in the steeplechase.
The NCAA East First Round capped the 2026 outdoor season for Yale. In addition to Benun and Martonfi, three other Bulldogs competed earlier in the meet. On Thursday, first-year
