Bulldogs Strike Twice in Second Half; Take Down Sacred Heart

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's soccer team closed out its non-conference slate in winning fashion on Sunday afternoon at Reese Stadium, with second-half goals from Anita Thorvaldsdottir and Phebe Ryan lifting the Bulldogs to a 2-1 victory over Sacred Heart.

With the victory, Yale improved to 5-4-0, and Sacred Heart dropped to 6-2-0.

"Really proud of our group for the performance today," said Sarah Martinez, the Loring Family Head Coach of Women's Soccer. "I thought we were dominant from start to finish and were able to execute our game plan. We had some players out today and others who stepped up and it was an awesome team win."

"We are excited to head into conference play with a little momentum which was our messaging all week leading up to this game," added Martinez.
