NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Cindy Yang and
Phebe Ryan each scored early, but two late goals by Hofstra in the final two minutes proved to be the difference as the Yale women's soccer team fell to the Pride, 3-2, on Thursday evening at Reese Stadium.
Hofstra improved to 1-3-1, and Yale dropped to 2-3-0.
"Really disappointing way to end that game," said
Sarah Martinez, the Loring Family Head Coach of Women's Soccer. "We knew they would throw numbers at us and create service late in the game. To give up two goals that late at home is not how we would define ourselves or our standards, and we must learn from it and move forward to our preparation for New Hampshire."
