Cambridge, Mass.  – The Yale men went into Saturday's match against No. 6 Harvard knowing that they had clinched at least a share of the Ivy League Championship; after defeating the Crimson by a 7-2 score, the Bulldogs earn the title outright. This marks the Bulldog's second consecutive Ivy title.

"The team played a great match today - it was an excellent way to end the season. We have a lot to look forward to in the post-season, and I'm really proud of the way that the team came together and built off last year's victory," said head coach Talbott.

Wins by Richard Dodd, John Roberts and C.J. Plimpton during the first round of matches put Yale up 3-0; by the end of the next round wins by Ryan Dowd, John Fulham and Naishadh Lalwani had clinched the title. Harvard did win two of the final three matches, with Kenneth Chan tacking on a win for the Bulldogs that made the final 7-2.

A Look Back

The Bulldogs (13-1, 6-0 Ivy) have handily defeated every team that they have contested this season, losing only to No. 1 Trinity. Yale's closest match was a 5-4 victory over No. 3 Princeton at the Brady Squash Center. After the Princeton match, senior captain Naishadh Lalwani was named the Harrow Sports Squash Player of the Week for his decisive victory at No. 4 that won the match for the Bulldogs.

The Next Step

Yale' victory ends the regular season, and places them in excellent position for the CSA Men's Championship. The Bulldogs' next test will be returning to Cambridge for the championship tournament on February 25-27.
