PRINCETON, New Jersey – The No. 1 Bulldogs (14-0, 6-0 Ivy) won in the first round of the Howe Cup against the No. 8 Dartmouth Big Green (9-7, I-5 Ivy), 9-0, to move on to the semifinals, where they'll meet Princeton (9-4, 3-4 Ivy). This convincing win for Yale exceeded the regular season result, where the team only won six of their nine matches.
In an upset, No. 5 Princeton defeated No. 4 Penn in the first round, earning a trip to the next round. In the regular season, Yale beat Princeton 7-2, with losses at the second and seventh spots and wins everywhere else.
However, Yale captain Logan Greer warned that her team shouldn't give the regular season result too much significance, though, as the Princeton team is "currently playing its best squash to date."
At the same time, the Bulldogs got an opportunity today to win a match on Princeton's home courts and prepare themselves for tomorrow's match, which will take place Saturday at 2 p.m.
