NEW HAVEN, Conn. — No. 3 Yale closed out its weekend with victories over No. 9 Western Ontario and No. 14 Navy Saturday at the Brady Squash Center.
In the first match, the Bulldogs (10-1, 2-0 Ivy) took care of business against the Mustangs of Western Ontario (12-4). Western Ontario put up a fight in the top four positions, stealing a tight victory at No. 2 and pushing Yale freshman Thomas Dembinski to five games at No. 4. However, Yale's depth proved too much for the Mustangs as the Bulldogs won the bottom five matches in straight sets to secure an 8-1 victory.
Yale next took the court against Navy. Once again, the Bulldogs put together a dominating performance on their way to a 9-0 win. The Midshipmen came closest to victory at the No. 6 position, but Yale freshman Liam McClintock came out on top in four hotly contested games (9-11,13-11,12-10,12-10). The match gave Yale its tenth win of the season.
After a busy few days, the Bulldogs will have a week to prepare for next weekend's Ivy League road trip. Yale's men will head to Princeton for a Saturday match against No. 10 Penn before facing the No. 7 Tigers on Sunday.
