NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Yale women's squash is undefeated no more after falling in an 8-1 defeat to Trinity at the Brady Squash Center on Wednesday.

The match between two of the country's best teams produced plenty of high-caliber squash, but the results tipped in favor of the visitors.

Trinity's talent at the top of the lineup shone through, but Yale's younger players in the lower tier showcase their potential with some excellent play both in victory and defeat. 

Sophomore Selena Maity played well at No. 8, controlling her match for stretches before losing the decisive fifth game. Fellow sophomore Jocelyn Lehman also took her opponent at No. 7 to five games in a losing effort.

The lone win came from freshman Emily Sherwood in the ninth spot, making short work of things in a convincing three-game sweep.

The Bulldogs return to action the weekend of Jan. 29 with a series of nonconference matches.
