NEW HAVEN, Conn. — No. 5 Yale earned a spot in the Howe Cup consolation finals with a 7-2 victory over No. 8 Cornell on Saturday morning at the Brady Squash Center.
The Bulldogs bounced back from Friday's loss to No. 4 Trinity with their second win of the year over Cornell.
Yale claimed wins across the lineup, taking the top three matches in three games apiece. Senior Georgia Blatchford and sophomore Jocelyn Lehman came out on top in exciting five-game contests at Nos. 5 and 8 to establish the margin. Both of Yale's losses came in four games.
With No. 6 Stanford topping No. 7 Columbia, Yale is set to face the Cardinal on Sunday to determine its final position in the national rankings.
When Stanford visited New Haven on Jan. 29, Yale bested the visitors by a 7-2 score.
Sunday's match, the Bulldogs' last of the year as a team, will begin at 9:00 a.m.
