Greenwich, Conn. – Day one of the Ivy League Championship is in the books as Yale (298) sits in third place behind Cornell (297) and five strokes behind defending champion Harvard (293). Cornell 's Mike Graboyes, brother of 2016 individual champion Luke Graboyes, leads all players with his three-under 69 while senior Jonathan Lai sits just one shot back with his two-under 70.
Dartmouth (302), Pennsylvania (302) and Princeton (303) occupy a logjam in the middle of standings and are within striking distance of the third-place Bulldogs. Elsewhere for the Elis, junior Will Bernstein and sophomore Eoin Leonard are in a tie for 14th but are still within six shots of the lead. Senior captain Li Wang and sophomore James Nicholas round out Yale's lineup and are tied for 25th at the the Stanwich Club.
Yale will be paired with Dartmouth for the second round on Saturday and begins play at 11:20 a.m.
