Yale Concludes Season in Fourth at Ivy Championship

Greenwich, Conn. – After a 6-over showing in the final round of the 2017 Ivy League Championship, the Yale men's golf team (897) finished in fourth place behind Princeton (285) and Cornell (302). Defending champion Harvard (874) secured its second consecutive conference championship with a 1-over performance on Sunday at the Stanwich Club while Cornell's Mike Graboyes shot a 2-under 214 for the tournament to take home the individual title.

Senior Jonathan Lai had the best score of any Bulldog golfers as his 2-over 218 placed him in a tie for fourth. The only other Yale player in the top 20 was sophomore Eoin Leonard who tied for 14th with an 8-over 224. Junior Will Bernstein's 1-under score in the final round was one of the better scores of the afternoon and helped him climb 10 spots on the leaderboard to finish tied for 21st.

Princeton's Alex Dombrowski made a late run at the top spot with his 5-under third round but ultimately finished three strokes behind Graboyes along with Harvard's Daniel de la Garza. Four Crimson golfers placed in the top five overall to capture the school's second Ivy League championship since 1976.

Sunday's match was the final round of collegiate golf for Lai as well as senior captain Li Wang. Looking ahead to 2017–18, the Bulldogs only lose two of the nine golfers on their roster to graduation and will bring back a talented and experienced squad for next season's competition.

With the victory, Harvard clinched a regional bid in the 2017 NCAA Men's Division I Golf Championship.
