Box Score 3 Bulldogs Rewarded by Media
BALTIMORE, Md. – Three Yale players were selected for the first-ever Inside Lacrosse Media All-America Teams. Ben Reeves was a second-team pick while Eric Scott and Tyler Warner were honorable mention.
The three teams were compiled by more than 30 members of the lacrosse media who vote in the weekly Maverik Media Poll and are in tune with the national college lacrosse landscape week to week. This diverse group of opinions provides a strong consensus of who's the best of the best in DI men's college lacrosse. Their selections were made at the end of the 2017 regular season and account for performances through May 8.
The All-America teams are a natural extension of Inside Lacrosse's role as the Source of the Sport — from the preseason All-America lists in the Face-Off Yearbook, through Midseason All-America lists and year-round coverage of the sport.
"Creating the Inside Lacrosse All-Americans has been a long time coming," says Matt Kinnear, Editor-in-Chief of Inside Lacrosse. "The lacrosse media members from across the country have been privileged to watch these athletes perform, and we're happy we can honor them as other major outlets do in big-time college athletics."
Reeves, a Tewaaraton Award Finalist for a second straight year, is the 2017 Ivy League Player of the Year. The junior attackman also earned tournament MVP honors after leading the Blue to a third straight title. He finished his third collegiate season last night with four goals and six points against Syracuse.
Scott, the senior first-team All-Ivy League midfielder and all-tournament selection, scored five goals in the two-game tournament and is second on the team with 42 points, his most productive collegiate campaign.
Warner, a junior short-stick defensive midfielder, has been crucial to Yale on clears and face-offs, contributing 29 ground balls in 16 games.
