Bulldogs Fall to Stanford

Teegan, Yeap secure wins

STANFORD, Cal. — The Yale Women's Squash team fell to Stanford on Saturday afternoon by a score of 2-7.

Notching wins for the Elis were No. 2 Helen Teegan and No. 3 Celine Yeap. Yeap traded victories with her opponent before outlasting her in five. Teegan beat her opponent in three straight.

"Before my match I just reminded myself how much work our team and coaches have put into the season," said Teegan. "Knowing that gave me confidence during the match and helped me focus on strategy."

Teegan added that she hopes the tough loss to Stanford will give the team motivation going forward.

"I think it's tough to lose matches when traveling, but the flip side is that there is extra motivation going into the next week. Each competition gives us experience and that's something we can really draw upon heading into our match with Trinity."

The Bulldogs take on No. 3 Trinity on Wednesday in a 6 p.m. start.
