No. 24 Cornell, Bucknell Coming to Johnson Field

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – After a stretch of six road games in seven games, the Yale field hockey team finally gets to enjoy some home cooking starting this weekend. The Bulldogs, who are 13-8 at home since the start of the 2017 season, host No. 24 Cornell Saturday (12:00 p.m., ESPN+) and Bucknell Monday (5:00 p.m., ESPN+).

BULLDOGS DROP ONE-GOAL GAMES ON ROAD
Yale (2-7, 0-2 Ivy League) lost a pair of one-goal games on the road last weekend. The Bulldogs pushed then-No. 12 Princeton to the limit on Friday, as a goal by sophomore forward/midfielder Kelly Dolan (Hamden, Conn.) with 6:11 to play tied the score 3-3 and forced overtime. The Tigers got the game-winner 6:47 into OT. On Sunday Yale fell behind Drexel 2-0 before getting a late goal by senior midfielder Bridget Condie (St. Louis, Mo.).

TERROSO KEEPING BUSY
Junior goalkeeper Sydney Terroso (York, Pa.) made 16 saves Friday at Princeton, the third time this season she has made double-digit saves in a game. That was one away from her career high, 17 saves against Harvard her first year. Only one Ivy Leaguer, Dartmouth's Isabella Santucci, has more saves in a game this season (20 in a 5-2 loss to then-No. 19 Boston College Sept. 13).

Terroso is 10th nationally in saves per game (6.89) and leads the Ivy League in save percentage (.747) by 25 percentage points.

DAVIES AMONG IVY LEADERS IN ASSISTS
With four assists, junior forward/midfielder Imogen Davies (Kilmacolm, Scotland) is tied for fourth in the Ivy League in that category.  She is two away from her career high, set in her first year.

LEVIEUX ENJOYING BEST SEASON SO FAR
With nine points (4-1-9), junior forward/midfielder Olivia Levieux (Johannesburg, South Africa) has equaled her point total from the previous two seasons combined. After going scoreless in the first two games of this season, Levieux has not gone more than one game without a goal since.

PLAYING THE RPI'S BEST
With Cornell No. 19 in the latest NCAA RPI rankings, Saturday's game will mark Yale's fifth against a current top 25 RPI team in an eight-game stretch. The Bulldogs also played No. 6 Virginia, No. 9 Princeton, No. 15 Harvard and No. 22 Liberty in that span.

SCOUTING CORNELL
Cornell (5-2, 1-1 Ivy League) is in its first season with Andy Smith as head coach. The Big Red has already equaled its win total from last year. Forward Grace Royer, the team's offensive MVP in 2018, leads the team in scoring (5-3-13). Her shootout goal last Saturday helped Cornell claim its first Ivy League win, topping Columbia 1-0.

SCOUTING BUCKNELL
Bucknell (5-5, 1-1 Patriot League), which plays Lehigh Saturday, already has three shutouts this season -- including a 1-0 win vs. then-No. 25 BU Sept. 21.  Goalkeeper Olivia Harris, a second team all-region pick last year, is 19th nationally in save percentage (.757).
