Bulldogs Sweep Dartmouth to Keep Pace in Ivy Standings

Yale Hits .320 in Road Victory

HANOVER, N.H. -- The Bulldogs hit .320 as a team in a 3-0 victory at Dartmouth on Friday evening.

With the win, Yale improved to 12-6 overall, 8-1 in league play and has won 12 of its last 13 matches.  The scores of the match were 25-18, 25-20 and 25-16.  

Rebekah Nemeth had 11 kills and hit .617, while Samantha Bray had 10 kills and hit .471.  Kathryn Attar had eight kills and added 10 digs. 

In the opening set, the Bulldogs hit .355 and took control after Attar and Bray combined on a block to take a 16-14 lead.  After a Dartmouth error, Attar followed with an ace and Bray next delivered a kill to extend Yale's lead to 19-14.

Midway through the second set, the Bulldogs rallied for a 7-1 stretch to take a 9-6 lead.  Izzy Simqu capped the run with a solo block.  The Big Green came back to tie the set at 16-16 before the Bulldogs scored the next four points. 

Yale seized the final set with a 6-0 run and took a 20-13 edge.  During the run, Yurika Boyd served up back to back aces and Attar added a kill.

Frances Arnautou had 30 assists and Maile Somera had 11 digs for the Bulldogs, who maintained a tie for first with the win.  Up next, the Bulldogs travel to Harvard tomorrow for a 5 p.m. start.
