Ivy League Announces Rawlings as Finalist for Bushnell Cup

Senior quarterback one of two finalists for top Ivy offensive honor

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Yale football senior quarterback Kurt Rawlings is now up for his third major award of 2019 as the Ivy League announced that he is a finalist for the Asa S. Bushnell Cup, the league's Offensive Player of the Year Award.
 
For the 10th-consecutive year, the Ivy League and the National Football Foundation (NFF) are partnering to co-host the presentation of the Asa S. Bushnell Cup, which honors the Ivy League Football Players of the Year as part of the festivities surrounding the NFF Annual Awards Dinner in New York City.  Rawlings is joined by Brown's EJ Perry as an offensive finalist.
 
The Asa. S. Bushnell Cup will be awarded at a special reception and press conference presented by the Pasadena Tournament of Roses at the New York Hilton Midtown beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 9, which will be broadcast live on ESPN+. The two offensive and two defensive finalists will be on hand along with their respective head coaches.
 
Rawlings, a three-time All-Ivy League selection and only unanimous offensive selection this season, set every passing and total offense record at Yale and recently was tabbed by  STATS as a finalist for the Walter Payton Award, the FCS Offensive Player of the Year, in addition to earning New England Football Writers' 2019 Gold Helmet Award winner as the top player in New England.
 
Rawlings capped his collegiate career in grand fashion orchestrated the greatest comeback in the history of "The Game" as Yale erased a two-touchdown deficit in the final 88 seconds to eventually win a share of the Ivy League Championship in double overtime against Harvard, 50-43.
 
The Bel Air, Md., native leads the Ivy League in passing yards (3,002), touchdown passes (27), passing yards per game (300.2) and efficiency (163.5). He tied the Ivy League record with five Offensive Player of the Week awards in 2019.
 
This season he ranks fourth nationally in points per game (21.2), fourth in total offense (331.6), fifth in passing yards per game (300.2), fifth in points responsible for (212), seventh in pass efficiency (163.5), seventh in yards per attempt (9.24),16th in touchdowns (27) and 16th in passing yards (3,002) despite only playing 10 games.
 
Rawlings led the Bulldogs to a No. 23/22 national ranking, a 9-1 overall record and his second Ivy League Championship in three years. He is 24-6 overall at quarterback for Yale.
