NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The Bulldogs swept the day, and completed a sweep of the Yale Invitational with two victories on Saturday.
Yale defeated Army 3-0 in the afternoon, and followed up with a win over Sacred Heart in the evening. The Bulldogs improved to 4-5 on the season and have won four in a row.
Junior Kathryn Attar was named Yale Invitational MVP. She averaged 3.44 kills per set, hit .443 and had eight total blocks for the three matches this weekend.
Senior Frances Arnautou, sophomore Samantha Bray and senior team captain Izzy Simqu earned all-tournament honors.
In the first match of the day against the Black Knights, Rebekah Nemeth had a team-high 10 kills and hit .333, while Arnautou had 26 assists, nine digs and three kills.
The scores of the match were 25-19, 25-23 and 25-15.
Attar added had eight kills and hit. 389 with six digs, while Simqu had six kills, hit .500 and had three blocks.
The Bulldogs rolled in the nightcap against the Pioneers and hit .387 for the match. Bray led the team with 11 kills and hit .733 without an error.
Attar hit .400 against Sacred Heart with 10 kills and five blocks. Simqu went for a match-high six total blocks.
Yale starts Ivy League play with a home match against Brown next Saturday. First serve is set for 5 p.m. and can be viewed on ESPN+.
