At the Penn State Invitational, the Bulldogs fenced against strong opponents and ended the day with a 3-2 record.
The first round of the day was against home team Penn State. While Yale prevailed at the Penn Elite Invitational, the last time the two teams met, the Nittany Lions avenged their loss with a 17-10 win on their home turf. Foilist

Yale performed well in the second round, this time against Haverford. With a commanding 23-4 victory, the Bulldogs saw many of its fencers go undefeated. The epee squad did not lose a single bout, with

Malcolm Miller,
Isaac Shelanski, and Jayson Thomson all posting wins. The foil squad defeated Haverford 8-1, with
Cameron Allen, Ernest Chen,
Allan Ding,
Daniel Li, and
Maxwell Yee all going undefeated. Saberist

Next, the Bulldogs defeated the North Carolina for the second time this season. Yale pushed hard for the 17-10 win, with members from each squad going undefeated. Saberist

Malcolm Miller all swept their matches against UNC.
In the fourth round of the day, Yale was matched up against UPenn. Epeeists
Safi Haider and
Isaac Shelanski swept their bouts, leading the way to a 16-11 win.
In Round 6, Yale faced off against Duke's talented team. The Bulldogs fought hard against such tough opponents. The epee squad won the majority of their bouts, with
Jonah Cho and
Isaac Shelanski going undefeated, and foilist
Allan Ding was also victorious against the Blue Devils, but when the dust settled, Yale was defeated 19-8.
While Yale was set to fence against Columbia in the last round of the day, the match was cancelled.
The Bulldogs will fence again on January 18 at the Philadelphia Invitational, hosted by UPenn.
