Matched up against tough opponents, the Yale men's fencing team went 2-3 at the Philadelphia Invitational. The Bulldogs, ranked eighth in the nation, defeated Wayne State and Drew and fell to Notre Dame, 16-11, Ohio State 14-13 and NYU 17-10.

Yale began the day matched against Notre Dame. At the beginning of the season, the Bulldogs earned a hard-fought victory against the talented team, but the Irish came out on top this time, winning 16 bouts to the Bulldogs' 11. Foilist

In the second round of the day, Yale faced off against Ohio State University and were defeated 14-13. The Buckeyes are a perennially strong team who Yale defeated earlier this season. Many of the Bulldogs performed strongly against the tough opponent. Foilists
